Lesson 3 of 6
Games, Movies and Music: The Heavyweights
Why is Call of Duty bigger than 25,000 songs? Compare the real sizes of games, streaming, downloads and media libraries.
Learn it
Music is light: one song ≈ 4 MB. Streaming an hour of music ≈ 60–150 MB of data.
Video is heavy: streaming an HD film ≈ 3–4 GB; 4K streaming ≈ 7–10 GB per hour. That's why 4K on mobile data eats your allowance fast.
Modern games are enormous: 50–150 GB is normal for a AAA title, because of 4K textures, voice acting in many languages, and huge 3D worlds.
A console with a 1 TB drive realistically holds only 6–10 big modern games at once.
